Job Title: AI Chemist for Advanced Electrolyte Systems

Alsym Energy is pioneering advanced solutions in energy storage through cutting-edge battery technology. We aim to accelerate the sustainable energy transition by integrating artificial intelligence with material science. We are inviting an innovative AI Chemist to enhance our Advanced Electrolyte Systems Team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in chemistry, specializing in electrolytes and ionic liquids, combined with a proven track record in utilizing AI/ML models for the development of electrochemical systems. This role is crucial for pioneering material solutions for electrolytes and interfaces within our next-generation battery technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute AI-driven research projects for the formulation and optimization of novel electrolyte systems, focusing on ionic liquids and high-performance non-flammable electrolytes.
  • Utilize computational chemistry methods like COSMO-RS to predict and analyze electrolyte behavior and interactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to leverage AI in advancing electrolyte design, and application.
  • Remain at the forefront of electrolyte research, incorporating the latest scientific findings and methodologies to enhance battery performance and safety.
  • Articulate complex scientific findings and methodologies effectively across technical and non-technical teams, promoting a culture of innovation and collaborative exploration.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • PhD in Chemistry or a related field, with a focus on electrochemistry, physical chemistry, or organic chemistry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral or relevant industry experience, with a focus on electrolyte research, particularly in ionic liquids and advanced electrolyte materials.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using COSMO-RS for electrolyte development, with a strong understanding of molecular interactions and thermodynamics.
  • Proficient in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data science, particularly as applied to chemical and electrochemical systems.
  • Excellent coding skills in Python, R, or other relevant scientific computing languages.
  • A strong track record of impactful publications in electrolyte systems, battery technology, and related fields.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, capable of leading projects independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in battery technology, especially in electrolyte development, is highly desirable.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large, complex datasets, and leveraging computational platforms for high-throughput material screening.
