Medical AI tools are proliferating, but physicians struggle with dozens of disparate solutions, while vendors themselves face costly hospital-by-hospital sales cycles. Almanac consolidates the medical AI ecosystem into a single, HIPAA-compliant platform: 1) Healthcare workers access a comprehensive library of medical AI tools through an integrated LLM assistant, 2) Vendors gain scalable and monetizable distribution without losing their business models or IP. The startup aims to capture physician adoption through immediate-value tools to establish itself as the primary medical AI distribution channel.

Role: We're seeking an iOS/macOS engineer to craft the Almanac native experience and build AI-powered mobile tools for healthcare professionals. You'll develop applications that bring sophisticated medical AI capabilities directly to physicians' fingertips, creating intuitive interfaces that seamlessly integrate multiple AI tools into clinical workflows.

In this role, you will:

• Build and ship new experiences on iOS/macOS that showcase the power of medical AI in clinical settings

• Create responsive, polished interfaces using SwiftUI with UIKit/AppKit for complex UI requirements

• Implement robust local data persistence and synchronization with Core Data/SwiftData

• Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency for all-day clinical use

• Integrate with backend APIs to deliver real-time AI interactions

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Have 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience with strong iOS/macOS focus

• Have a proven track record of building high-quality native Apple applications in production

• Are fluent in Swift and deeply familiar with the Apple development ecosystem (Xcode, UIKit/AppKit, SwiftUI, Combine)

• Excel at crafting intuitive, performant user interfaces that handle complex workflows

• Understand modern Swift concurrency (async/await, actors) and reactive programming patterns

• Have experience with Core Data or SwiftData for local persistence and offline-first architecture

• Prioritize performance, security, privacy, and user experience

• Enjoy working cross-functionally to bring ambitious product ideas to life in a fast-paced startup

Nice-to-haves:

• Backend API integration experience (REST, GraphQL, WebSockets)
