We are a passionate and ambitious team of 40+ people on a mission to create rich customer experiences by automating their entire documentation lifecycle with a powerful all-in-one solution – WorkFlow.
WorkFlow enables businesses to create powerful documents and automate document processes. From simple tasks like editing PDFs and creating forms to eSigning, WorkFlow is everything you need to create, integrate, and automate your documents.
As airSlate continues to evolve its platform and invest in AI-driven automation, we’re seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead our global engineering organization into its next phase of innovation and growth. Reporting directly to the President of airSlate Workflow, this leader will oversee the architecture, development, and delivery of workflow automation products while shaping the strategic and operational direction of the technology organization.
The ideal candidate will drive engineering excellence, foster innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions that power mission-critical customer workflows.
What you'll be working on:
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and scale a 30+ person engineering organization, including 4 senior engineering leaders.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across distributed teams.
- Build engineering management depth and create clear career paths for top talent.
- Technology Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with product and business objectives.
- Partner with Product and Design leaders to ensure smooth, outcome-driven collaboration.
- Oversee software architecture, code quality, testing practices, and platform scalability.
- Champion adoption of modern development practices, including CI/CD, cloud-native engineering, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Integrate AI and machine learning into QA and development workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Operational Excellence
- Establish clear KPIs and processes to improve engineering productivity and delivery predictability.
- Implement best-in-class observability, security, and documentation standards.
- Optimize resource allocation across feature development, technical debt reduction, and innovation.
- Ensure AI and automation are applied responsibly and effectively to boost output and product quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with the President, Product, and GTM leadership to align technology execution with business goals.
- Communicate effectively across functions and geographies, fostering transparency and trust.
What we expect from you:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 5+ years in senior leadership roles (Director or above) within SaaS or workflow automation environments.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (25+ members) across regions.
- Strong technical foundation in modern web architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), APIs, and scalable SaaS systems.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI technologies in development and QA workflows.
- Experience scaling engineering organizations using agile frameworks.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align diverse teams around a shared vision.
