about 222:
We’re an early stage startup working on building the future of social. We are not excited about a future where humans spend the majority of their day in a virtual world. By facilitating genuine human connections IRL, we're building a product that swings the pendulum in the other direction.
We’re building a world-class team of operators to onboard & work closely with our venue & curator partners with the goal of delivering the best social experiences available in their market.
We’re backed by a word-class set of investors including General Catalyst, Y Combinator (W23), Upfront Ventures, NEA, Jaegermeister, 1517 Fund, Cory Levy (Z Fellows), the Founder of Dropbox (Arash Ferdowsi), the Founder of On Deck (Julian Weisser) & more.
what you’ll be doing:
- you will be joining 222 as the head of the toronto market - spearheading all curation, sales, venue/host relations, logistics, experience calendar planning, & customer support.
- you will be launching the toronto market with the goal of hosting 15 experiences a month in month 1, 24 in month 2, and 31 in month 3.
- you’ll make venue partnerships + find 222 curators we can start working with.
- based on feedback data, you’ll make the decision of which venues/curators to continue working with, which to replace, and how each of them can improve iteratively.
- you’ll be handling customer support for the entire market.
- you’ll become an expert in live experiences.
who you are:
- you’re passionate about solving the problem 222 is tackling and pushing people back into the real world through curated experiences.
- you consider yourself a tastemaker & curator.
- you have 1-3 years of experience either doing ops at a marketplace startup, hospitality group, or nightlife industry or you are the events planner at a larger company, preferably in fashion or music.
- you want to join an early-stage fast growing startup and grow with the company.
- you’re analytical and have the agency to make decisions based on both qualitative and quantitative feedback data.
- you have your finger on the pulse of everything social happening in toronto - nightlife, events, run clubs, concerts, etc..
- you understand toronto & each of its neighborhoods like the back of your hand.
- demonstrated history of hosting events on your own.
