About 1001

1001 builds AI-powered operational intelligence for the world's most complex, data-heavy environments. We turn fragmented data into a live, unified model of operations and use it to drive better decisions and solve high-stakes problems. Our work sits inside government and large enterprises, in environments defined by critical operations and messy, real-world data.

Our engagements start with forward-deployed teams embedded in the customer environment. They work on real data, build quickly, and iterate until the system proves itself, then scale it across the organization.

The company is backed by Lux Capital, General Catalyst, CIV, Hanabi, Sanabil, and 9Yards, with angels including Chris RĂ©, Amjad Masad, Karim Atiyeh, Kareem Amin, and Russell Kaplan.

Working at 1001

We take on high-stakes problems in environments where mistakes carry real consequences. That demands an uncompromising bar, real speed, and systems that hold up under live operations. The people who thrive set that bar for themselves and keep raising it. They own outcomes end to end, bring rigor to everything, and lift everyone around them.

About the role

As a Deployment Lead, you will own what gets built for each customer engagement.

You will work closely with customers to understand their operations, identify high-impact problems, and translate those problems into solutions our engineers can build. You will define success metrics, scope the minimum viable product, write requirements, prioritize the backlog with engineering, and drive each engagement until the customer sees measurable operational value in production.

You will also bring lessons from the field back to the product team, helping strengthen the platform and accelerate future deployments.

What You'll Do

  • Embed onsite with customers, including airlines, airports, ports, and government operators, to map workflows, data, and pain points.
  • Identify where 1001 can create the most operational value.
  • Turn ambiguous customer ideas into clear problem statements, success metrics, and scoped deliverables.
  • Write requirements, define the minimum viable product, and prioritize the engineering backlog for each engagement.
  • Work with the engineering team daily to guide delivery and resolve open questions.
  • Manage scope, unblock decisions, and determine whether delivery issues come from product limitations or execution.
  • Run working sessions and demonstrations for users ranging from operations analysts to senior executives.
  • Bring structured, evidence-based customer feedback into the core product roadmap.
  • Help scope new engagements and build 1001's deployment playbook as an early member of this function.

What We're Looking For

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a forward-deployed role where you owned what was built for enterprise customers, such as deployment strategist, forward-deployed product manager, deployment lead, or a similar role.
  • Ability to solve open-ended problems in unstructured environments and write clear specifications when none exist.
  • Strong product judgment and curiosity about how customer operations work in practice.
  • Comfort working with technical details, including reading data schemas, reviewing model outputs, and participating in engineering discussions.
  • Scripting or SQL experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills across levels, from operations analysts to senior executives.
  • Low ego and high ownership, with a focus on outcomes over credit.
  • Willingness to travel substantially and spend meaningful time at customer sites in the Gulf.
  • Arabic language skills or regional cultural fluency are a strong plus.
